Each commission is developed through a collaborative process and tailored to the project, medium, and intended context.
COMMISSION FAQ
1. How do I begin a commission?
Reach out through the contact form. We’ll discuss the concept, scale, timeline, and budget, then prepare a proposal and estimate.
2. Is a deposit required?
Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin the commission and reserve studio time.
3. When is the final payment due?
The remaining balance is due upon completion and before the artwork is shipped or delivered.
4. What payment methods are accepted?
Major credit cards, PayPal, bank transfer, and approved digital payment methods.
5. Is shipping included?
Shipping is calculated separately based on destination, size, and service level. A detailed shipping quote is provided before finalizing the commission.
6. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping is available. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer’s responsibility.
7. Can commissioned artwork be returned or exchanged?
Because commissions are created specifically for the client, commissioned works are final sale. Shipping damage or other delivery issues are handled separately.
8. Do commissions include a certificate of authenticity?
Yes. Every original commission includes a signed certificate of authenticity from Kenneth Burris Studio.
COMMISSION PRICING
Commission pricing begins at $2,000.00
Final pricing is based on scale, complexity, materials, and project requirements. Each commission receives a “written proposal and final quote before work begins.”
Payment structure:
50% non-refundable deposit to begin the commission. The remaining balance is due upon completion and before shipping or delivery.
Shipping:
Calculated separately based on artwork size, destination, and service requirements.
Custom projects:
Large-scale, institutional, site-specific, or unusually complex commissions are quoted individually.
